Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. November 3
7:32 a.m. – Brazeau County – Township 485 – Police received a call of a vehicle in the complainants field with two occupants who stated they ran out of gas. Members attended with the Brazeau County Peace Officer. The truck was determined to be stolen out of Calgary and the two males were arrested and charged. Both males have a lengthy criminal history, and were remanded into custody.
12:59 p.m. – Parkland County – Highway 22 – Complainant called police reporting that she saw a bunch of trucks going through her property today. Complainant advised she believes she knows who it is. Members continuing to investigate.
November 4
9:05 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a fraud and misuse of credit card. Complainant noted they had unauthorized transactions on credit card for $5100. Card has been cancelled. Matter is under investigation.
9:39 a.m. – Parkland County – Report received of an attempted theft of vehicle and damage to property. Steering column of Chevrolet truck was broken. Lighter and miscellaneous tools and garbage left behind and seized for further investigation.
11:11 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a fraud. Individual had charged an amount to a debit card for $910.90. Individual had also managed to manipulate another debit card machine and company was out $1000. Matter is under investigation.
November 5
1:29 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 60 – Complainant reporting that they were hunting and vehicle is now stuck behind a mound of dirt. Note on the window advised that they shouldn’t have parked there. Member attended and spoke with the property rep who stated that he had returned and removed the dirt. Complainant is no longer on scene, however was advised to hunt on crown land not private property.
November 6
4:20 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Individual reporting they woke up to the smell of smoke in residence. Went outside and observed flames on the southeast corner of the house. Complainant attempted to put out fire. Fire department attended. Matter is under investigation.
7:53 a.m. – Drayton Valley- Report received of an unwanted intoxicated female. Female is yelling and trying to provoke others in the residence to hit her. Female is refusing to leave. Members attended, complainant stated they wanted the female evicted, members advised that they would need to contact the landlord tenant board and go through the proper procedures.
8:56 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report received of an assault. Members attended and located victim with injuries. Matter is under investigation.
November 8
10:15 a.m. – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer Park – Police received a call of an assault in progress. Members attended and located the male suspect and arrested him. Male resisted the police while being arrested, but was safely put into handcuffs and taken into police custody. Male charged with assault and resist arrest. He was held for judicial interim release hearing and was remanded into custody.
12:05 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Police received a call about a threat to destroy property. Complainant attended the detachment and reported that the framer they had hired to build their house is threatening to come back and tear it down after a dispute with the homebuilder. Investigation continuing.
5:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Police were called to a disturbance at the Royal Inn and Suites. Members attended and spoke to the manager of the Inn who advised that while asking a female to leave the Inn the female had become unruly, got close up in her face and spit in her direction. Female then departed when the manager called police.
7:06 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Canco gas pumps – Members dispatched to a hit and run. The driver of an older model Ford F150 with a snow blade on the front had hit the gas pumps. Staff at the gas station confronted the male driver about it but he left the scene. Members located the vehicle on the way to Canco and stopped it. Members confirmed the driver had hit the pumps and taken off. Male driver appeared intoxicated and blew a fail on the roadside screening device. Driver charged for impaired under provincial sanctions and ticketed for failing to remain at the scene of an accident. Passenger of the truck was also found to be on court ordered no contact conditions with the driver. They were arrested and charged for breaching their court conditions.
9:46 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Police received a report of intentional damage to a vehicle. Member attended and spoke with the complainant who advised her sister had intentionally backed into her vehicle causing damage. Sister on scene who admitted to doing it but advised she did it because she was fearful of her safety. Investigation continuing.
November 9
10:25 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 72 – Police were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle abandoned left running, blocking a driveway on RR 72. Members attended, vehicle was stolen, it had been taken from the Spruce Grove area that morning. Vehicle held for forensic exam, investigation continuing.
8:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Members were called about a homeless individual sleeping in the vestibule at TD bank. Members attended and removed the male. Shelter Pods were about to open up so male directed to head there.
