Cyclists of various abilities from all around can now sign up for the Drayton Valley DV100 event on Sept. 10, 2022.
Officials say cyclists can choose to register to ride either 160 km, 100 km, 40 km or 20 km. The 160 km distance begins at 8 a.m., with the remainder starting at 9, and all from the Drayton Valley Omniplex.
For the event’s top competitors, there is over $25,000 in prizes to be given away, plus an additional $1,000 if a racer sets a new course record in either the men’s or women’s divisions.
The DV100 is a fundraiser for the Drayton Valley Community Foundation. All moneys raised from the DV100 stays in Drayton Valley and is granted out to organizations and community groups. The Drayton Valley Community Foundation, now in its 28th year, has given back over $750,000 to the community over the last five years.
No parking signs will be placed on streets that are part of the DV100 route. Parking will not be allowed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on marked streets. In addition, 45th Ave, from the four-way stop to the Omniplex, will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
