Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. August 11
11:04 a.m. – Highway 759 – Parkland County – Hit and run collision reported. Complainant advised that a white Chevrolet Tahoe was driving dangerously and cut him off twice. The Tahoe then began brake checking which resulted in them touching bumpers at a speed of about 10km/hr. Tahoe then departed the scene. No damage to complainant’s vehicle. Members following up.
11:51 a.m. – Highway 39 – Brazeau County – Police received a report of a road rage incident. Complainant reported that they believed a semi truck driver had tossed a rock out their window which struck the complainants vehicle. Complainant followed the truck to the gravel pit but they wouldn’t provide him any information. When he left, two drivers were aggressive with him.
10:09 p.m. – Township 493 – Range Road 71 – Members were dispatched to a complaint of uttering threats and impaired driving at the gravel pits just outside Drayton Valley. Members attended and the suspect truck attempted to drive away down a dirt path. Member followed the vehicle and stopped it. The youth driver was impaired. Provincial Impaired Driving Sanctions issued to the youth and parent notified. Uttering threats portion of the investigation is still ongoing.
August 12
9:37 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 92 – Report received of a dog bite. Toddler had been bitten on the nose. Toddler taken to hospital where they received stitches.
August 13
12:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Noise complaint received from Derrick Lounge. Caller advised that individuals at the Woodhaven apartments were throwing glass bottles from 4th floor balcony into the Independent Grocery parking lot. Members attended and noted two apartments were involved and having parties. Members spoke with individuals in the apartments and advised to keep the noise down and to stop throwing bottles.
1:10 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Individual called to report their boyfriend left them stranded on the side of the highway near Spruce Grove. He had stated that he was coming to her residence to smash the house and vehicle. Members attended residence. No sign of boyfriend who was known to police. Male located at sisters house.
10:08 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of a homeless encampment near Bumper to Bumper. Members attended and located a tent on the road on some wooden pallets. No one in or around tent. Tent removed.
13:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 42 Avenue – Report of theft of identity. Someone had set up credit cards in complainants name. Complainant advised that they had received a call from a store advising that they had an overdue balance, however has never had a credit card for the store. Matter is under investigation.
August 14
1:15 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Request to assist EMS with an assault which occurred at the Derrick Lounge. Members attended and located an individual who had been assaulted during a bar fight. Victim had a cut to eye and a black eye as well as a large cut on their knee. Matter is still under investigation.
4:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 20 Avenue – Report of an assault at the Canco Gas Station. Known male and female involved. Male had hit female then took off from the gas station. Members located vehicle at 7-11. Male arrested for assault and breach of conditions from previous incident the week before. Male held for bail hearing.
9:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Report of vandalism in progress. Three youth are breaking fluorescent bulbs on the ground behind the dumpster at St. Anthony’s School. Members patrolled the area, youth not located.
August 15
9:26 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of damage to vehicle. Complainant stated that while they were in the turning lane at 50 Street and 50 Avenue in Drayton Valley a vehicle hit the side mirror of their Jeep causing scuff marks.
2:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – MacKenzie Avenue – Report received from individual who had found arrows in their backyard chain link fence. Caller wanted the arrows removed. Member attended and removed the arrows. Same seized.
August 16
11:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Individual called to request a wellbeing check on children as they had observed two young children running around in diapers. Members attended and were advised that the children had escaped. They were now in the custody of the mother who apologized.
5:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of an assault in the Pizza Hut parking lot. Member attended and spoke with both parties. Fight deemed to be consensual.
August 17
12:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report of an incident between two dogs. Caller reporting their neighbour’s dog had gotten into their yard and had bit their dog. No injuries. Bylaw and animal control contacted.
August 18
1:51 am.. – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Report received of a six-year-old child wandering around the streets. Caller was attempting to locate the childs residence. Member attended and spoke with the child who advised who the parents were. Members attended to apartment and spoke with parents. Child and Family Services notified.
