Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. August 4
11:12 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 70 – Report received of harassment. Ongoing issue. Youth were riding quad and dirtbike. Neighbour had chased them to another property a few days previous. Neighbour had threatened youth. All parties spoken too. Youth were bothering the livestock of neighbour and were driving at excessive speeds.
1:08 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Report of a break and enter. Complainant had returned home to find a youth in their house. Youth stated they were in the wrong house. Members attended and located youth who advised they were looking for another residence. Youth was arrested and brought to the detachment where EMS was called due to their highly intoxicated state. Youth taken to hospital.
5:54 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – member on patrol at the Omniplex was alerted by youth that a white F350 was doing burnouts to the point where the tires were down to the rims. Vehicle belongs to a company where the youth had been let go. Youth had stated they were going to drive the crap out of it prior to retuning the vehicle. Vehicle located and towed.
8:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Pleasantview Trailer Court – Complainant reporting neighbour came to residence to return some gardening tools and brought up an incident which had occurred the previous week. Neighbour then began kicking and punching the complainant. Matter is under investigation.
August 5
1:04 p.m. – Brazeau County – Report received of theft of work equipment overnight. Tools and wrenches and oil rig equipment. Sea can has been towed.
3:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47A Avenue – Report of an individual who called the probation office thinking it was Canadian Tire. Individual who is on weapons conditions was wanting to know how to obtain keys to a gun safe. Member attended residence and was advised that there is no weapons, however there is a safe that they need to get into.
August 6
4:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Report received of children in the street spraying passing vehicles with water. Street is too busy for children to be out and unsupervised. Members attended and viewed the children on the sidewalk with water guns. Parents and children advised to stay on the sidewalk.
8:11 p.m. – Tomahawk – Member received a report of a stolen holiday trailer sometime over the past week. Suspects had rammed through a fence to get onto the property.
August 7
3:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Report of a break and enter to a garage. Caller saw two individuals enter the garage. Homeowner stated that there were a few items missing from the garage, golf clubs, cordless tools. Door had been unlocked. One individual was wearing light clothes with a ball cap and the other was wearing a dark hoodie. Members patrolled the area, individuals not located.
10:46 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report of theft of wallet at the Derrick Lounge. Wallet was beside the VLT machine. Female, mid 30’s with dark hair and wearing a grey tank top left in a Toyota Camry.
11:43 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Report received of known female attempting to gain entry to vehicles. Members located female who was arrested for mischief and public intoxication. Female held until sober.
August 8
12:20 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Walmart – Report of a shoplifter. Female took off out of the fire exit. Unknown what was taken.
1:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Individual attended the detachment to report a hit and run to their white 2020 Toyota Camry. Damage to passenger side near the fender. Believes it may have occurred in the IGA parking lot in the handicap stall.
3:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Report received of a shoplifter. Stolen item was a bottle of throttle control. They put it under their shirt and left the store. Possible suspect.
August 9
12:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol observed a female sitting slumped over on the sidewalk. Member stopped and spoke with female who provided a name. Queries indicate female wanted on four outstanding warrants from Edmonton Police Service. Search incidental to arrest produced two pellet guns and numerous pieces of identification that did not belong to female. Female arrested and held for a bail hearing.
2:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol was flagged down by individual who advised they had been following known male and female around the store as they were carrying large bags and were concerned they would be shoplifting. Individual described female as wearing a purple shirt. Female located and spoken to. Items were returned to the store. Member purchased some food for the individuals as they were hungry.
5:08 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Caller reporting a female is walking a dog that did not appear to be theirs. Caller thought female had stolen dog. While looking for the dog, members received a call from the owner of the dog advising that they were trying to find their dog as it had got away from him in a parking lot. Members facilitated the return of the dog. Female was looking for owner.
August 10
10:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Caller reporting an RV parked at the school. Has been there for approximately one month. Member attended and spoke with individuals in the RV who advised that they had contacted the Wild Rose School Division and had received permission to stay at school until they obtain possession of their house.
2:41 p.m. – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer Court – Report of a dispute received. Members attended male and female arrested on separate charges and held for bail hearings. Male released on surety.
3:14 p.m. – Brazeau County – Report received of a low flying plane. Caller concerned they were going to crash. No crash. Caller was concerned as the plane was flying under 1000 feet. Message left for complainant advising that the location provided is at the beginning of the runway.
7:54 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 81 – 911 hangup received. Children could be heard struggling with the phone. On call back, mother answered and advised the children had been playing with the phone. Members attended the residence and confirmed the wellbeing of everyone.
August 11
6:25 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Caller reporting theft of truck with a known suspect. Caller states that vehicle contained wallet with cash, laptop and clothes. Matter is still under investigation.
