May 19
1:10 am – Brazeau County – Cynthia – Member was making proactive patrols in Cynthia when he noted a suspicious trailer at a known residence. Trailer checked did not come back stolen but message left for RO in case it just had not been reported yet.
4:15 am – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Police were dispatched to a complaint of a male acting weird in the south Petro Canada. The male was talking about ghosts and asking the female cashier if she was alone. Male then left and went to Canco across the road. Members made patrols for the male as he had left Canco, but were unable to locate him.
10:27 am – Drayton Valley – Police received a request to serve Subpoenas for a partner agency. A member served the subpoenas.
10:54 am – Drayton Valley – 51 avenue – Police received a call reporting that a local female was smashing bottles and was associated to numerous criminal organizations. Member investigated and determined call to be a result of the mental health of the complainant. File referred to RPACT, the rural mental health team.
12:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 avenue – Police received a mental health order from a doctor to apprehend a male and transport him to the Alberta hospital in Ponoka. Male apprehended and police transported him to Ponoka.
1:23 pm – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Police received a complaint of a male burning tires in his back yard. Members attended and the fire was out. Police advised male that he was not allowed to use his fire pit as a burn barrel for items like tires.
2:13 pm – Brazeau County – Police were dispatched to a property dispute at a rural residence. A male had passed away and family fighting about the distribution of assets. Members spoke with both parties explaining that this was a civil issue but reminding them to work hard to be civil in this time.
3:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Ticket issued for failing to obey a stop sign.
3:49 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 street – Ticket issues for failing to obey a stop sign.
4:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 street – Ticket issued for failing to stop at a red light.
4:22 pm – Brazeau county – Highway 22 – Police received a call from a local campground asking police to contact the owners of trailers that were left at the campground as they wanted them removed. Police contacted the complainant and let them know that it is the responsibility of the campground owners to take care of this.
4:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 avenue – Police received a report of a suspicious male pushing a rototiller down a road. Police attended it was a local lawn care company working on yards and the item was an aerator not a rototiller.
4:34 pm – Drayton Valley – Canadian Tire – Police were dispatched to a male and female who shoplifted from Canadian Tire. Members attended, reviewed surveillance and identified both the male and female. Canadian Tire did want shop lifting charges laid therefore both served with notices that they are banned from the store.
11:07 pm – Brazeau County – RR 64 – Police received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle stopped at a gas plant entrance. Members attended, vehicle no longer at the entrance and no one on site.
May 20
7:39 am – Drayton Valley – UFA – Police were dispatched to a complaint of a male sleeping in the bathrooms at the UFA. The male had locked himself in there. Members attended and located one of the homeless males in the bathroom using the shower. He had gained access with a UFA gas card that did not belong to him. Member had the male return he gas card.
8:23 am – Drayton Valley – Traffic ticket issued for driving without valid registration.
9:14 am – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Police were dispatched to a complaint of a male pedestrian punching the complainants mirror and chasing his vehicle down the road. Complainant suspects the male is high in drugs. Members made patrols but did not locate the male described by the complainant.
9:49 am – Brazeau County – Tomahawk – Male called police to advise that his license plate had broken off his flat deck trailer and was missing. Statement taken and plate added as missing.
10:41 am – Drayton Valley – 47 street – Complainant attended the detachment to report that he believes his ex girl friend had call him last night. History of domestic from 2018. Complainant did not have any proof that it was his ex, but believes it was her when he picked up. File documented.
2:18 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Speeding ticket issued.
3:17 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Ticket issued for operating a vehicle without registration.
3:50 pm – Drayton Valley – Pleasant View Trailer Park – Complainant called police to advise that her son was threatened by another boys mom over a tricycle in the woods dispute. Members attended and spoke with both parties, no evidence to lay a charge.
4:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 64 street – Complainant called police to advise that his 2006 red Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Duramax crew cab short box was stolen sometime in the past 3 days. Statement completed and investigation continuing.
5:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Complaint of a minivan being driven with a toddler riding on the lap of a rear passenger. Members made patrols but were unable the catch up to the vehicle. Registered owner contacted and warned that charges could be laid.
5:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Members dispatched to assist EMS with an aggressive 87 year old patient. Members attended and with EMS were able to convince the patient to go willingly with EMS.
5:53 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 620 – Ticket issued for driving a vehicle without holding an operators license.
6:13 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 620 – Ticket issued for failing to produce insurance.
8:32 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 620 – Ticket issued for driving an uninsured motor vehicle on the highway.
May 21
3:42 am– Parkland County – Highway 759 – Complainant attended the RCMP detachment to report an ongoing problem with theft at his rural residence. Complainant suspects it to be 2 individuals he knows on the area. Member went trough some crime prevention techniques with the complainant and the investigation is continuing.
7:14 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Mental Health call. Complainant continually calling police advising people are outside her residence and accusing her dog of calling the police. Members attended and confirmed with the complainant’s son that everything was fine at the residence. Referral made to RPACT, the Rural Mental health team.
09:33 am – Parkland County – Highway 759 – Police received information on the location of a stolen Semi truck and trailer sitting on a rural property. Police attended the property, located the truck and observed a known property crime offender near the truck. The known offender lied to police about his name. When police called him by his correct name as they approached he ran away into the woods. A Police service dog was called who tracked and located the offender hiding in the forest. William Shaw of Drayton Valley has been charged with 2 counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, identity fraud, failing to comply with a release order and Possession of Methamphetamine. Shaw was also wanted on warrants out Red Deer. A bail hearing was conducted and Shaw was held in custody.
1:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 street – Police received a request for a well being check on a child who was just dropped off at his mother residence. Members sorted out a confusing situation and the child went and stayed at his grandma’s residence.
1:55 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Boulevard – Members received a complaint of a stolen license plate. Complainant had noticed her license plate was missing when loading her vehicle at Canadian Tire. Members attended and checked surveillance of recent stops, unable to determine at what location the plate was stolen.
1:59 pm – Drayton valley – 50 street – Police dispatched to a female in distress who had just fell off her bike. Complainant did not stay on scene with the female. Members attended the scene but did not locate and female on a bike.
2:48 pm – Parkland County – RR 63 – Complaint of a possible fraud. Complainant responded to an ad for hay but when she showed up the individual advised he had no hay and that he did not make the ad. He has had numerous people attend the location looking for hay. Investigation continuing.
6:49 pm – Parkland County– Highway 759 – Ticket issued for exceeding the max speed limit for the highway.
6:58 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Ticket issued for failing to produce insurance.
7:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Traffic stop done in Drayton Valley. Officer recognized female passenger who was wanted on warrants. Female lied about her name when asked. Female arrested for her outstanding warrants and charged with obstructing a police officer for lying about her name to try and avoid arrest.
7:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Ticket issued for failing to stop at a stop sign.
9:19 pm – Parkland County – Highway 759 – Traffic stop done on a vehicle speeding on the highway. Driver had only a suspended Ontario license and was prohibited from driving Canada Wide. Driver arrested and vehicle seized for 30 days.
9:27 pm – Brazeau County – Township 482 – Members dispatched to a complaint of a male neighbor who had showed up at her door and was drinking her beer and eating her food. Members attended, both the male and female complainant were intoxicated. Ongoing issue between the 2. Male left and female encouraged to lock her doors and call the police if the male shows up uninvited.
May 22
00:24 am – Drayton Valley – 52 street – Police were dispatched to a complaint of a male walking down the middle of the road wearing all black. Member went and spoke with the male and warned him about the danger of walking on the street in the dark wearing a black.
00:44 am – Brazeau County – Highway 620 – Complaint received of an erratic driver in a black Ford Explorer travelling west bound on highway 620. Police made patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle.
00:50 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Police received a report of an erratic male waving his arms around and doing abnormal things. Members attended and located the male who was highly intoxicated and advised he was just walking to 7-11. Members cautioned him on being drunk in public and creating a scene.
1:12 am – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Ticket issued for transporting liquor in an open container within easy access of the driver.
3:41 am – Drayton Valley – 50 avenue – Members dispatched to a report of a dispute that had started at the Oil Country Tap House and then moved to the Coach Motel. Complainant reported that she had gotten into an altercation at the bar with a female she knew who then came to her room and began smashing her belongings. Members attended and made sure the complainant was safe. Complainant declined to press charges.
8:49 am – Parkland County – RR 72 – Members were dispatched to the complaint of a theft of Tent Trailer. Trailer stolen was a white 2001 Dutchmen 1004D. Statement taken and trailer added as stolen.
3:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 avenue – Police were dispatched to a complaint of a loose aggressive dog attacking other dogs. Members made patrols in the area but were unable to locate the loose dog.
4:37 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Tickets issued during a traffic stop for operating an uninsured and unregistered vehicle on the road.
6:16 pm – Brazeau County – Beaver Estates – Police were dispatched to neighbor dispute. Complainant advised their neighbor had threatened to shoot her dogs. Members attended and spoke with the parties, no criminal offence occurred. Threats were based off the need for the complainant’s dogs to stop harassing her neighbor’s cattle.
6:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Police were dispatch to a 911 of a male yelling in the parking lot of the IGA. Members attended and located a male who suffers from mental health issues. Male returned to his hotel room and referral done RPACT, the rural mental health team.
7:37 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Ticket issued for speeding.
8:03 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Ticket issued for distracted driving.
8:22 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 Ticket issued for operating a vehicle without registration.
8:41 pm – Drayton Valley – Report received of a sexual assault. All parties known to each other. Investigation is continuing.
10:18 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 street – Ticket issued for operating motor vehicle without registration.
May 23
2:17 am – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Traffic stop done that included mandatory alcohol screening. Female driver provided a breath sample and failed. IRS sanctions issued and vehicle seized for 30 days.
5:50 am – Brazeau County – RR 75 – Report received of a suspicious vehicle on a lease road. Members attended and located a male sleeping in his mini cooper. Male advised he is from Fox Creek, was unable to stay at his friends place so decided to sleep in his cooper. Male had a blanket and pillows, was just feeling a little cooped up. Nothing criminal occurring.
3:16 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 620 – Call came in about a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of the highway near the elk river road. Female appeared to be non responsive. Police attended, vehicle had run out of gas and female was just sleeping until her friend showed up with more fuel.
6:41 pm – Drayton Valley – Country Style Mobile Home Park – Domestic dispute called in. Members attended and spoke with both parties who were intoxicated. Both advised they were just arguing and that nothing had gotten physical.
8:24 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Ticket issued for Speeding.
10:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 ave – Found bicycle reported. Police attended and picked up the bike.
10:38 pm – Drayton Valley – RR 84 – Complainant called police reporting that her husband had taken off with their young child and is worried as she feel her husband is not in his right state of mind. Police attended and located the husband and the child back at home. Husband and child determined to be fine.
10:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 street – Report received of a potential fraud. Complainant sold a futon on Facebook and the buyer paid with a company cheque. Cheque has not bounced yet, but complainant felt it was sketchy. Investigation is continuing.
May 24
02:08 – Drayton Valley – 56 ave – Commercial alarm received. Members attended, building secure, unknown why the alarm went off.
09:15 am – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Members were dispatched to a complaint of trespassing. Complainant advised someone had been ripping through his pasture and fields leaving ruts. License plate had been obtained. Police contacted the registered owner who advised his son had been driving his vehicle. Parties brought together and the son agreed to fix the damage, no charges issued.
10:44 am – Drayton Valley – 62nd street- Report received of a suspicious male sleeping in the driver’s seat of his white ford truck. Members attended and 24 hr driving suspension issued as driver was under the influence of drugs.
11:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 street – Police received a call of someone trying to break into a residence. Members attended and spoke with the complainant who advised a male had come to her door and asked if a female was there. When she told him she was not he walked to the back alley o his phone. He did not depart until she called the police.
12:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 street – 911 call received of a domestic dispute occurring on the street. Members attended and separated the parties who were known to police. No physical altercation occurred. Police calmed the parties down and requested they go their spate ways for a while.
3:00 pm – Information received about the location of a possibly stolen 5th wheel camper trailer. Members attended and license plate on the trailer and the trailer confirmed to be stolen from separate locations. Trailer believed to be associated with drug trafficking and a search of the trailer revealed drug paraphernalia as well as 2 shotguns including one that was sawed off and ammunition. Trailer, guns, ammo and drug paraphernalia seized by police and the investigation is continuing.
4:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 street – Complaint received of drugs being sold at Frank Maddock High School by an 18 year old female. School resource officer engaged and investigation is ongoing.
6:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 street – Request received for police to keep the peace while an ex boyfriend retrieved his belongings. Member mediated a plan for the boyfriend to retrieve him belongings with out the complainant being present.
8:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 street- Complainant called police requesting a well being check on a male who had hung up on her as he has a history of mental health issues. Members attended, male was fine.
10:23 pm – Brazeau County – Township 482 – Police received another call from this residence. Female again reporting that she is having issues with her male neighbor friend. Male had come over and both were having drinks watching the hockey game when he became very upset with Smith letting in Calgary’s third goal. Male left prior to police needing to attend. Common occurrence when both parties are drinking together.
11:30 pm – Brazeau County – Beaver Estates – Members dispatched to a complaint of a domestic dispute in progress. Police attended and spoke with both parties who advised that they were having a verbal argument over faithfulness in the relationship. Both parties consented that it had gotten blown out of proportion due to their alcohol consumption. No evidence of an assault and one party given a courtesy ride so they would have the night to cool off.
May 25
2:03 am – Drayton Valley – Pleasant View Trailer Court – Police were dispatched to a report of weird screams occurring in the field near Pleasant View. Police attended and confirmed the screams were that of a fox. What does the fox say? Now the residents of Pleasant View know!
8:20 am – Drayton Valley – Canadian Tire – Canadian Tire reported a theft of tools from Canadian Tire. Surveillance footage obtained of the male thief and his vehicle. Investigation is continuing.
10:10 AM – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Report received of dogs locked in a Blue vehicle. Dogs had been in the vehicle for over 30 minutes. Member attended, dogs were inside vehicle, however were not in distress. Member contacted registered owner.
12:14 pm – Brazeau County – request for members to attend a structure fire. Fire Department, members and EMS attended. No injuries, all persons accounted for.
12:59 PM – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report received of a white pilot vehicle for a wide load is speeding and tailgating. Member attended location and patrolled the area, however was unable to locate vehicle.
3:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Neighbour dispute over speeding in area. Member attended and spoke with both parties.
7:01 PM – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Report received of a fire at the Econorest. Member attended, fire in an appropriate fire pit. No issues.
7:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 47A Avenue – Report received of ex breaking into residence. No evidence to support the allegations.
7:50 pm – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Report of a known male at the location. Male is on conditions not to be on the property. Male would not leave when requested to. Member patrolled the area, male had left prior to arrival. Male not located.
9:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of drug use on the school grounds out side of school hours. Members attended and patrolled the area on foot. No one located in area.
10:54 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting their Red F250 was stolen. Members located and followed the vehicle. Vehicle rolled in ditch and driver got into a second vehicle. Matter is still under investigation.
May 26
5:37 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Report received of a male who sprayed the hallway with pepper spray. Member attended, witnesses were not cooperative.
