Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. May 12
9:07 am – Drayton Valley – Walmart – Walmart loss prevention officer attended the detachment with documentation of repetitive thefts being committed at self checkout. Individuals are not scanning all the items. Members continue to investigate to identify these individuals.
10:13 am – Brazeau County – RR 55 – Complainant reported that someone has been stealing trees from her property. Members continue to investigate.
11:24 am – Drayton Valley – RR73 – Members set up speed trap on the ring road. Numerous vehicles stopped and 2 tickets issued.
1:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 street – Drayton Valley RCMP received a report of a home invasion and robbery that took place the night before. Complainant attended the detachment and reported they had their home entered by a number of known individuals who beat them up and stole numerous items from them. All suspects have been identified and police are actively looking for them.
3:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 avenue –AHS Peace Officer reported that they believed there was a homeless camp set up behind the health center. Members attended with the Peace Officer, no signs the area was being used as a camp.
5:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Police dispatched to 3 individuals fighting. Members attended and located 2 females very upset with each other as on had accused the other of stealing their make up. The accused was very offended by this accusation. No evidence to show the theft occurred. The accuser left the area and the accused stayed to eat dinner.
6:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Found wallet given to a police officer while they were out on patrol. Wallet contained ID. Police contacted owner of the wallet and advised they can pick it up at the Drayton Valley Detachment.
6:06 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 39 – Female called police to report that a large bobcat has been hanging around her back yard for the past 3 days. Members provided her the number for Fish and Wildlife.
6:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 avenue – Complainant called police requesting a well being check be done on her son. Members attended and son’s residence and he was fine.
7:01 pm – Drayton Valley – Pleasant View – Female contacted police requesting assistance as her ex-boyfriend had come to her residence high on drugs and had just let himself in. He was refusing to leave. Members attended, male abrasive with members and showing obvious signs of drug impairment. Members arrested the male and held him in custody until sober.
7:22 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Member was making a proactive patrol in the Omniplex parking lot when he observed a young male driver showing everyone how awesome his truck is. In doing so the driver performed an activity that was likely to distract and startle other users of the road. Young male driver issued a stunting ticket.
10:42 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – A second member was making a proactive patrol in the Omniplex parking lot and this time he observed a young male driver show everyone how awesome his car was. In doing so the driver performed an activity that was likely to distract and startle other users of the road. Young male driver issued a stunting ticket.
May 13
01:31 am – Drayton Valley – 53 avenue – Complainant contacted police to report of a break and enter. Complainant stated that someone continually breaks into an abandoned apartment, stays the night and then leaves. Members attended in an attempt to locate the suspect but no one was at the apartment. Investigation is continuing.
7:31 am – Brazeau County – Several reports received of damage and theft of copper wire from lease sites. Matter is still under investigation.
7:45 am – Drayton Valley – Request for a wellbeing check on a male who appeared to be measuring the ground outside Wal-Mart. Members attended and located known male. No issues.
9:55 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a vehicle collision involving three vehicles. No injuries.
10:25 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – request for police assistance. Individual is no longer wanted at residence as they caused damage. Member attended and spoke with all parties.
10:54 am – Brazeau County – Report of theft from well site. Diesel fuel, tools and cable stolen from the site.
11:10 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report received of a noise complaint at Urbanata apartments. Member attended and spoke with the complainant and offending party requesting they keep the noise to a minimum.
11:45 am – Drayton Valley – report received of a possible stolen vehicle heading in the direction of Drayton Valley. Member patrolled the area, vehicle not located.
12:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Individual attended the detachment as a witness to a hit and run. Matter is still under investigation.
12:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Report received of an unwanted male in the bathroom of the cardlock. Has already been asked to leave once today. Members attended and observed male on a bike leaving the property.
1:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Request for a wellbeing check on individual who was concerned that some individuals were following them. Members attended location. One individual arrested and charged with assault.
2:30 pm – Lodgepole – Report received of cut copper wire at a lease site.
2:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Request received for a wellbeing check on a female laying down on the bike path. Member attended and located known female who was taking a nap outside in the nice weather. No issues.
2:40 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a single vehicle collision. Vehicle had hit a very large rock which likely fell off the back of a truck. Damage to front right tier and bumper.
3:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Report received of two vehicles blocking a crosswalk at a school. Members advised patrols would be made.
3:29 pm –Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Report received of a two vehicle collision. No injuries. Member attended.
4:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Request received for member to assist with retrieving possessions. Individual advised they had moved out of residence 2 months ago and now wants to retrieve the rest of their belongings. No concern there will be any trouble. Members advised this is a civil matter.
7:49 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report received of a Black dodge Ram with a flat deck trailer being driven erratically. Vehicle and trailer had been reported stolen.
10:55 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Report received that a small vehicle had hit a deer. No injuries.
11:41 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Residential panic alarm received. Member attended along with EMS and Fire. One male in the residence, must have accidentally tripped the alarm.
May 14
12:25 am – Brazeau County – Rr 73 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for speeding.
1:28 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol observed a vehicle with a burnt out tail light. Traffic stop initiated, driver was a GDL driver and blew a caution for alcohol. As 0 tolerance for GDL drivers, Driver given a 30 day licence suspension and vehicle seized for 7 days.
10:40 am – Brazeau County – Rr 85 – Report of a suspicious vehicle. Members attended and traffic stop conducted. Female driver appeared to be suffering from drug use. EMS called. Driver admitted to taking drugs. 24 hour suspension given.
1:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of suspicious activity. Two males and one female are loading material into the back of a truck. Member attended, vehicle had left prior to arrival. Members patrolled the area, vehicle not located.
2:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Report of a fight between a cat and neighbour dog. Report to bylaw made
3:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of a noisy quad. Neighbour in back alley started their quad. No muffler. Member attended location, normal noise level for quad. Muffler present. Member spoke with complainant and advised. Ongoing issues between two parties. Advised to leave each other alone.
4:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Report of suspicious activity received. Individual states that a male on a bike is harassing them. Male came into their back yard and began to yell at them, then left. Member attended and located known female who stated that her friend had accused her of stealing copper and money from them.
5:02 pm – Brazeau County – Report of a dispute between complainant and ex. Complainant is camping on crown land and ex attended and began causing a disturbance. Members attended, female had left prior to arrival. Members spoke with both parties.
8:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting they had found stolen items left by a tenant who had recently moved out. Stripped wiring, copper tubing and power tools.
9:05 pm – Brazeau County – Caller reporting female in distress. Complainant heard screaming. Members attended area and made patrols, no issues noted. Some young people were running through a sprinkler and screaming.
9:57 pm – Drayton Valley – Lions Park – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle near the new pool. Black mid 2000 Ford F150 is parked on the sidewalk, male appears to be looking at material at construction site. Patrols in area made, vehicle not located.
10:08 pm – Brazeau County – hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for speeding.
11:05 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for speeding.
11:24 pm – Brazeau County – hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffics stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for speeding.
May 15
2:14 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration.
2:18 am – Brazeau County – hwy 22 – Report received of a dangerous driver in a black truck. Vehicle is speeding excessively. Member patrolled the area, vehicle not located.
3:12 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol observed a dark Blue Audi, queries on the plate did not match vehicle. Member attempted to initiate a traffic stop with vehicle, vehicle fled. Further patrols made, vehicle not located.
9:48 am – Brazeau County – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for failing to stop.
11:30 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report received of sighting of stolen vehicle. Dark Blue GMC Sierra with slip tank in the box. Vehicle had been observed racing through Rocky Rapids. Patrols made, vehicle not located.
12:05 pm – Drayton Valley – Request received to conduct a wellbeing check on individual as they had received a concerning text. Members attended location, individual was fine. Text had come from a third party.
1:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Member on patrol observed vehicle go through stop sign. Traffic stop initiated and driver issued a violation ticket for failing to stop.
4:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of a dog in distress. Members attended as animal control not available. Dog seized and taken to Cause for Critters. Dog reunited with owner.
5:11 PM – Brazeau County – Member dispatched to a 911 call. Sounds of children in the background heard. Member attended residence and spoke with individuals. Children had been playing with the phone. Children provided information on calling 911 when no emergency.
5:16 pm – Parkland County – Caller had called 911 to report that if there was a report of a break and enter to residence, it is their son and they are allowed to be there.
7:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Report received of some cheques stolen and used. Matter is under investigation.
May 16
6:16 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Report of theft of truck and trailer received. Vehicle stolen is a White 2004 GMC Sierra, duramax diesel with an enclosed trailer.
6:47 am – Tomahawk – Report received of theft of catalytic converters. 2 vehicles involved.
7:41 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Report received of 2 trucks speeding. Members patrolled the area, vehicles not located but believed to be related to two vehicles reported stolen earlier.
8:38 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of an individual checking into a room on Friday and stating their room was being paid for by another party. Individual was only to stay there one night. Member attended, other party had not advised they would pay for the hotel. Individual ha left prior to arrival.
10:49 am – Brazeau County – Several reports of the two stolen vehicles being observed in the area. Members patrolled the area, vehicles located, however took off from both Sherriff’s and members. One vehicle later recovered burnt in Breton’s area.
11:12 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Driver reported that they were driving on Hwy 22 North when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.
1:47 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 620 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for speeding.
2:07 pm – Brazeau County – hwy 22 – Report received of a female in the ditch. Member attended and located individual who advised they were trying to get a ride to Leduc.
2:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a potential breach of an Emergency Protection Order. Both parties involved had conflicting hair appointments at same salon. Members advised one of the parties to not attend.
6:28 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report received of an individual driving by the river near Wiley West campground. Caller advised they should not be there. Member attended and spoke with complainant who advised the individuals had left. Complainant hadn’t actually observed the individuals but had seen it on snapchat.
7:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Request for member to attend while caller retrieves belongings. Member spoke with all parties and attended to keep the peace.
May 17
1:40 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Caller reporting they received a call from their alarm company advising of a power outage on their lot. Member attended location, all outside lights and hallway lights were on, no signs of a break in. Members cleared the building.
3:47 am – Brazeau County – Report of suspicious activity. Two people were walking around the trailer park.
11:01 AM – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report received of stolen truck recovered in Sylvan Lake. Vehicle had been stolen from shop.
11:44 am – Brazeau County – Report received of an individual trespassing on private property and taking pictures. Complainant also continually sends harassing communications via text message. Matter is under investigation.
12:51 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 621 – Complainant reporting they were driving on hwy 621 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.
1:06 pm – Drayton valley – Beckett road – Report received of a suspicious vehicle. Has radioactive materials sign on it. Member spoke with individual who uses the materials for testing purposes.
3:58 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Street – Report of a neighbour dispute. Neighbour has put garbage bin and old chair in front of complainants residence. Ongoing issue.
9:10 pm – Drayton Valley – request for a wellbeing check on daughter. Members attended residence, Daughter was fine.
May 18
7:20 am – Brazeau county – Report received of a missing male. Members were speaking with complainant when male returned home. Male’s phone had died and therefore had been unable to receive any calls or text messages. Male was fine.
8:13 am – Drayton Valley – 52 street – Request for members to conduct a wellbeing check on daughter. Member located daughter who was in good health.
8:35 am – Drayton Valley – Request for members to conduct a wellbeing check on an individual who they believe is ill. Members attended to residence and located individual who advised they are under a physicians care.
10:21 am – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Report received of a theft of a 2006 black GMC sierra stolen overnight. Vehicle had been stolen from business yard.
2:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of an abandoned vehicle. White 4 Door sedan is parked in the turning lane at intersection. Members attended, vehicle was gone prior to arrival.
2:32 pm – Brazeau County – Report received of two abandoned lease sites being entered and batteries stolen.
5:18 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no drivers licence, no insurance and no registration.
7:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Commercial business alarm received. Members attended and cleared building, no one observed, no damage to property. Same call received the previous day.
8:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of individual following them in a truck. Ongoing issue between two parties. Matter is still under investigation and possible charges of criminal harassment.
8:24 pm – Drayton Valley – Male turned themselves into the detachment on outstanding warrants. Warrants dealt with and male released.
11:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Report received of a dispute. Members patrolled the area and spoke with the complainant who provided names of the two individuals. Individuals not located.
May 19
1:10 am – Cynthia – Member was on patrol when they observed a triple axle dump trailer on an empty lot. Matter is still under investigation.
4:15 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of an individual acting strangely, keeps coming into the store. Description provided. Individual identified as known male. Members attended location and made patrols male not located.
