March 17
3:43 am – Parkland County – Twp 514 – EMS requested RCMP assistance with a male who was passed out in a vehicle. Members attended and determined the vehicle was stolen, located a loaded shotgun wedged beside the driver’s seat and the driver had multiple outstanding warrants. 44-year-old Scott GERVAIS was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property, weapons offences, and numerous breaches of release conditions. GERVAIS was held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and was remanded in to custody until March 21 in Grande Prairie.
7:34 am – Brazeau County – Break in to a lease site that occurred at approximately 5:00 am.
11:39 am – Brazeau County – Twp 494 – Landlord/tenant issue reported, not a police matter at this time and referred to the landlord/tenant board.
1:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – 911 hang-up from the town office. Member attended, no emergency.
2:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a fight/assault. Members attended, parties separated, only one left at the location. Admitted to getting into a confrontation with a friend, but no further issues.
4:02 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Police attended with EMS to a medical call.
4:49 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a vehicle on the highway with no license plate. Member made patrols, could not locate the vehicle.
5:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complaint of a hit and run that had occurred 2 days prior in a parking lot.
6:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a suspicious person in a back alley. Police attended, located the suspect who was walking home from work, no offence.
7:43 pm – Brazeau County – RCMP and Fish and Wildlife officers attended a trapper’s cabin near Cynthia that had been damaged by a firearm.
8:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complaint of a female acting erratically, police attended, female appeared to be in medical distress, EMS was contacted and they transported the female to hospital.
9:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complaint of a possible impaired driver, police attended the vehicle was no longer at the location, patrols were made, the vehicle was not located.
9:35 pm – Brazeau County – Police were called to a wellbeing check and attended with EMS, EMS transported the person to the hospital.
10:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a homeless person in a vestibule, police attended, the person left and declined a ride to the MAT program.
11:58 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complaint of an impaired driver, patrols were made, the vehicle was located at a residence unoccupied.
March 18
2:06 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Suspicious person inside a bank pacing around. Police attended, a homeless person was warming up before continuing on for the night.
3:42 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of 2 homeless people in a vestibule. Police attended, they left without issue.
11:28 am – Brazeau County – RR 82 – Complaint that someone had shot a coyote from a vehicle near a residence. Patrols made, the vehicle was located unoccupied, all parties spoken to and warned.
12:05 pm – Brazeau County – Police were called with EMS to a wellbeing check, EMS transported the person to the hospital.
12:32 pm – Brazeau County – RR 75 – Report of threats in relation to a landlord/tenant matter. Police spoke with all parties, agreed to stay amicable until the tenants moved out at the end of the month.
12:43 pm – Brazeau County – Police were called to a wellbeing check and attended with EMS, EMS transported the person to the hospital.
1:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complaint of a vehicle excessively speeding, patrol made, unable to locate the vehicle.
2:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Report of a bag of property left behind a business. Police attended, the property appeared to be old clothing and garbage and was discarded.
2:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complaint of mischief to a vehicle, suspect was arrested and charged with smashing the windshield of a vehicle.
3:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a person possibly overdosing in the bathroom of a business. Police responded with EMS, the person was treated and taken in to custody for outstanding warrants.
4:30 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Collision between a vehicle and a deer.
8:39 pm – Brazeau County – Police were called with EMS to a wellbeing check, EMS transported the person to the hospital.
10:18 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Report of a break-in to a secure yard. Police attended and located the suspect hiding in the scrap metal bin. The suspect was arrested and transported to the detachment where they were released on conditions. Charges are pending.
11:44 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Flight from police. Police attempted to pull over a truck travelling on range road 81 at a high rate of speed. Truck took off from police. Truck known to police and investigation into this is continuing.
March 19
00:01 am – Drayton Valley – Royal Inn and Suites – Police were dispatched to a tenant dispute at the Royal Inn and suites. An intoxicated tenant had kicked in their own door. All parties spoken to and the intoxicated tenant will pay for the damages.
00:42 am – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Members were dispatched to a complaint of 2 males fighting outside the bar. Police attended, but all parties had left.
00:59 am – Brazeau County – RR 90 – Police were dispatched to a residential structure fire. Police attended with Fire. No one injured but home consumed. Fire investigator is attempting to determine cause.
01:50 am – Drayton Valley – 47 avenue – Members were dispatched to a complaint of a possible intoxicated driver and a loud party. Police attended, vehicle was parked and cold. No party at the house, but the resident was playing their music really loud and told to turn it down.
05:30 am – Drayton Valley – 50th street – Police received an alarm call from Esso, it was determined to be false.
05:38 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Police received a call of a possible intoxicated driver that had hit the ditch and ended up in the complaints pasture. Collision had occurred at 01:00 am. Complainant advised the drivers wife was on scene who stated her husband was in the hospital. Police attended, all parties had left the scene. Investigation is continuing.
08:10 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Billy the Buck was on RR73 today running in front of traffic. Billy made off ok this time, was last seen running with the other deer in the area. Minor damage done to the vehicle and no one injured.
10:23 am – Drayton Valley – 50th street – Police received a report of a male cutting wires south of Boston Pizza. Male was described a pushing a stroller. Police attended, and located the male and his stroller. No copper wire. Complainant could not confirm that the male was committing an offence, just that he looked suspicious.
11:08 am – Drayton Valley – 54 avenue – Police received a complaint of harassing communications. Complainant advised that their ex partner is refusing to stop contacting them despite being told that the relationship is explicitly over. Police gathered evidence from the complainant and the investigation is continuing.
11:50 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant contacted police advising his ex partner was contacting him threatening to harm herself. Police followed up and family was intervening with the female threatening to harm herself. No need for police attendance.
2:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 avenue – Complainant called police to report the location of a possible stolen Skid steer. Police continue to investigate.
3:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 avenue – Members responded to a motion alarm at the RBC. Alarm determined to be false.
5:30 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Police were dispatched to a driving complaint on highway 22. Complainant advised that black lifted ford truck was swerving all over the road. Members attended but were unable to locate the vehicle. Complainant was no longer following.
5:50 pm – Drayton Valley – Lion Valley Park – Police received a 911 call of found drugs in the Park. Police attended and determined the pills to be Aspirin.
6:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 avenue – Complaint received of children running in the road. Parents had yelled at complainant to slow down, but did not seem to care that their kids were playing in the street. Members attended but no kids were located.
9:16pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – 911 hang up received from the hospital. Police contacted the hospital and spoke with the nurse in charge. Everything was in order, someone must have misdialed when calling out.
March 20
02:06 am – Brazeau County – Members were dispatched to a possible break and enter in progress as an alarm was going off at an Obsidian lease site. Member attended and together with Obsidian security determined that no break in had occurred. Weather appeared to have knocked out the power.
05:36 am – Brazeau County – Township 494 – Members received an alarm call at the Brazeau County. Determined to be a false alarm associated with the town power outage.
05:37 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Members received an alarm call at Greenwood trailer court. Determined to be a false alarm associated with the town power outage.
05:51 am – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Members received an alarm call at Panago Pizza. Determined to be a false alarm associated with the town power outage.
05:52 am – Drayton Valley – 46 street – Members received an alarm call at the Rotary house. Determined to be a false alarm associated with the town power outage.
06:34 am – Drayton Valley – 61 street – Members received an alarm call at Lube Express. Determined to be a false alarm associated with the town power outage.
11:26 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial road – Complainant contacted police requesting a wellbeing check on his employee as he had not heard from him. Police attended employee’s residence who stated everything was fine, just hadn’t been in contact with his boss.
3:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 avenue – Complaint received of a possible stolen vehicle. Complainant advised a male had taken his mother’s vehicle without permission and was refusing to give the keys back. Investigation is continuing.
10:05 pm – Brazeau County – Police received a call for a well being check on male. Complainant reported that he was on the phone with a friend when his call disconnected and the friend sounded in distress. Friend was driving and whereabouts unknown. Description of what he was driving sent to all neighboring detachments.
11:32 pm – Drayton Valley – TD bank – Police were contacted by TD security advising that there was a male in their vestibule smoking. Police attended and requested the male leave. Members offered the male a ride to the mat program but he refused.
March 21
09:54 am – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Motor vehicle collision reported to police. Statements and driving documents obtained.
3:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 avenue – Police were dispatched to a call pf a break and enter to a residence. Male contacted police advising he believes his ex common law broke into his apartment and stole his medication and money while he slept. Investigation is continuing.
4:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 street – Police were dispatched to a call of a domestic assault. Police attended and obtained evidence of a violent assault. 1 male was arrested and charged with Assault with a weapon, Assault while choking and uttering threats.
4:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 street – Members were requested by EMS to assist with a suicidal female. Members attended with EMS, the female went willingly with EMS and family support engaged.
6:17 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Member’s were dispatched to a possible assault at a known female’s residence. Members attended and determined the female was highly intoxicated but is safe and no assault occurred. This is an ongoing mental health issue therefore mental health supports updated.
8:22 pm – Brazeau County – RR 91 – Police were dispatched to a call of 2 gun shots. Complainant was unsure of direction or distance. Members patrolled the area but did not located anything suspicious.
8:48 pm – Brazeau County – Country style Trailer Court – Police were dispatched to a complaint of a domestic in progress. Police attended, both parties were highly intoxicated, but it was determined no offence had occurred. Parties were separated for the night.
9:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Police were dispatched to a complaint of a possible break and enter in progress at a local business. Police attended and located a suspicious male near by who was detained. Further investigation revealed that no one had gained access to the building or the yard, therefore the male was released.
9:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 52nd street – Police were dispatched to a call of theft from a residence. Female advised a male who had been in her residence had left with a bunch of her stuff. Police located the male and located the majority of the items and returned them to the complainant. Investigation is continuing.
11:26 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Member’s were again dispatched to a possible assault at a known female’s residence. Members once again attended and determined the female was highly intoxicated but is safe and no assault occurred. This is an ongoing mental health issue and mental health supports updated.
March 22
01:01 am – Drayton Valley – Holiday Inn Express – Police were contacted to attend and assist with an agitated highly intoxicated male lost in Drayton Valley. Male believed he had a room there but he did not. Male departed prior to police arrival but left his room key behind which was clearly for the Westwood hotel, not the Holiday Inn. Members returned the key to the Westwood hotel who advised they had not seen the male. Unknown where he slept the night.
2:01 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer court – Police were called about a theft from a post office box. Members attended and spoke with the complainant, only one box is being consistently broken into. Investigation is continuing.
3:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 avenue – Complaint received of criminal harassment by a high school student. Victim’s father contacted police advising a male student would not leave his daughter alone. The male student was spoken to by police and advised that if he did not stop he could face criminal charges. Male agreed to stop.
4:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Police were dispatched to a fight in progress outside of Warehouse One the Jean store. 2 males were punching each other. Fight ended and both went their separate ways while complainant was calling police. Unknown if dispute was over matching jeans.
5:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 52nd street – Police were dispatched to a complaint of an attempted break and enter over night. Members attended and spoke with the complainant who advised a male she new was trying to get in her residence last night. Member’s familiar with the situation as it is a dispute over each other’s property and who is whose. Members continuing to investigate.
6:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Complaint received of a domestic dispute. Complainant advised that their common-law spouse had threatened to beat up her brother. Members spoke to all parties and then separated them for the night.
9:35 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Member’s were dispatched again to a possible assault at a known female’s residence. Members attended and determined the female was highly intoxicated but is safe and no assault occurred. This is an ongoing mental health issue therefore mental health supports were again updated.
10:04 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Member’s were called back to the same residence with the known female calling in about a possible assault that just occurred. Members again attended and determined the female is still highly intoxicated, but is safe and no assault occurred.
March 23rd
01:15 – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Member’s were called for a 3rd time to the known female’s residence. This time EMS was also contacted and attended. Members and EMS attended and determined the female was still highly intoxicated but is safe and no assault occurred. Member organized another place for the female to stay for the night where she was unable to obtain more alcohol. Members transported the female to the hospital in the morning due to the mental health concerns. Female seen by doctor and released.
02:47 am – Drayton Valley – 52nd avenue – Complaint received of suspicious people around the Drayton valley hotel. Members made patrols but did not locate anyone.
08:03 am – Drayton Valley – 47 avenue – Members requested to do a well being check on a female youth. Members attended and spoke with the female youth who advised she was fine. Female youth advised to go to school.
10:17 am – Drayton Valley – Male failed to appear for identification purposes as required by his court release document. Charges laid and warrant issued.
12:05 pm – Brazeau County – Township 494 – Panic alarm received at the Brazeau County office. Members attended and were advised the panic button had been hit accidently, no emergency.
12:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Post Office – Complainant called police advising that 2 homeless males were outside playing with the power box. Members attended, but the males had left. Patrols made but members were unable to locate the males.
2:53 pm – Brazeau County – Members received an Emergency Protection Order from Devon RCMP to serve on a Brazeau County resident.
5:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Members dispatched to a single vehicle collision on 50th street and 20th avenue. Driver of the vehicle had attempted to answer his cell phone while driving and swerved into the ditch in front of Tim Hortons. No injuries. Ticket issued for operating a cell phone while driving.
6:16 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 620 – Complainant contacted police advising that the dark blue Volkswagen car that was travelling at a high rate of speed and had taken off from police had no hit the ditch near RR 75. Police attended, vehicle had earlier fled from a County Peace Officer. County Officer also attended the scene and did up all the appropriate Provincial sanctions.
10:56 pm – Drayton Valley – TD bank – TD security contacted police to advise a homeless individual was sleeping in their vestibule. Members attended and asked individual to leave.
March 24
08:16 am – Drayton Valley – 47 avenue – Single vehicle collision reported at the detachment. Complainant slid on the ice into a metal bin. Documents taken and damage sticker issued.
08:36 am – Brazeau County – Township 491 – Motor vehicle collision, vehicle vs a trailer full of round bales. Members attended, driver had sun in their eyes and could not see the trailer and drove into the back of it.
