The Town of Drayton Valley is still looking for participants for a new waste management pilot project.
The Town is looking for 100 people to participate in the FoodCycler pilot project.
A FoodCycler is a device that produces compost more quickly and efficiently. According to the Town, it is quiet and compact, easy to clean and operate, and reduces waste volume by up to 90 per cent.
If interested, you can volunteer by filling out the form on the Town’s website, calling the Town at 780-514-2200, or applying at the Civic Centre in person. All participants will be thrown into a random draw.
If your name is drawn, you will be able to purchase a FoodCycler at a discounted rate of $150 plus GST. Starting on Apr. 4, you will be provided with a tracking sheet to monitor how much you use the FoodCycler.
The pilot program will run for 12 weeks, after which you will be able to keep your FoodCycler.
