8:20 am – Brazeau County – RR103 – Complainant reported hitting a deer with his truck
11:30 am – Brazeau County – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a possible domestic, male manhandling a female by a truck. Members investigated, insufficient grounds to charge
12:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported a noisy protest, stated some involved were purposely setting off car alarms to attract attention. Member attended and observed protesters not causing any issues
12:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Ave – Complainant attended the detachment stating tenant was behind on rent, that he wanted to attend the property to check on it, but was fearful of the tenant. Member attended solely to keep the peace, tenant wasn’t there. Complainant given advice to follow proper eviction procedures
1:17 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a sex assault to the Parkland RCMP that occurred in Drayton Valley RCMP’s area. Under investigation
2:17 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reported locating a truck cab at a rural location. Cab recovered, determined to be from a truck stolen in Stony Plain in late August
2:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 St – Complainant reported persons possibly squatting in two adjacent trailers. Under investigation
3:05 pm – Brazeau County – RR80 – Request to assist Edmonton Police in obtaining information from a driver involved in a collision in Edmonton. Member attended the provided address and determined the driver now lives in Edmonton.
5:05 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported receiving threatening voicemail message. Under investigation, both parties involved known to police
6:54 pm – Drayton Valley – Deby Park – Complainant reported what hearing what he thought was a pellet gun in the woods. Members located a witness who advised some youth had been playing with a paintball gun
7:36 pm – Drayton Valley – File opened in relation to serving a restraining order. Members unable to serve the order as the person involved has recently moved and refused to cooperate
8:26 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Crime Reduction Unit members working in Drayton Valley observed a truck in a parking lot. The plate was registered to a car belonging to a male with warrants. Members arrested Joshua KOHUT of Sexsmith from the vehicle, driver Malcolm TESTAWICH of Peace River was arrested after a lengthy foot pursuit. Both had active arrest warrants and both were also held for telephone bail hearings on multiple new charges. TESTAWICH was remanded in custody. The truck was towed due to there being no valid insurance or registration.
September 17
4:43 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Members responded to a domestic dispute. Investigation determined the couple had a heated argument and there were insufficient grounds to charge. Parties were separated
9:11 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a sign in a business that he believed to be threating in nature. Sign seeking information to assist in collecting money from complainant’s son. Member attended and determined the sign wasn’t threatening, store manager was warned of the possible negative ramifications
9:58 am – Brazeau County – Complainant called to report a client was expressing suicidal ideations. Member spoke to the male who was at work and determined the male had no plans to harm himself and would be seeking help on his own
10:48 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting patrols to prevent mischief at a business
11:26 am – Drayton Valley – File opened to assist complainant in liaising with the Firearms Registry as he had recently destroyed a revolver. Firearms Registry seeking confirmation of destruction from police
2:37 pm – Drayton Valley -53 Ave – Complainant reported animal cruelty after seeing a small puppy’s head in a business yard. Member attended and located the object, which though realistic in appearance, likely originated in a factory in China and not from a dog
3:55 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant requested assistance with non-compliance of a child custody order. Members investigated and mediated as possible
3:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male yelling, screaming, kicking his truck and generally scaring customers at a gas station. Members conducted a traffic stop with the involved truck and driver who was apparently upset over a dispute with another male and decided to give his truck a “darn good thrashing” similar to a scene from an episode of Faulty Towers
4:00 pm – Drayton Valley – Members conducted a traffic stop and ended up executing four warrants. A quantity of drugs was seized also.
6:52 pm – Drayton Valley – McDonalds – Complainant reported a fender bender in the drive thru. Under investigation
7:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious male in a silver dodge revving their engine and honking the horn. Members attended, male had been refused service, advised behaviour was not appropriate.
9:34 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported an erratic driver southbound on Hwy 22 near Twp Rd 514. Vehicle description provided and patrols were made but the truck wasn’t located
9:38 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 624 – Complainant reported a dead animal on the highway. Member attended and removed a deer from the road
11:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Hang-up 911 call from a senior’s residence. Member attended, no emergency, likely a misdial
11:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Complainant reported a suspicious truck parked in an alley. Members attended and located the truck. Owner had run out of gas and returned while members were on scene
11:53 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 490 – Complainant reported a party with alcohol and no supervision of underage youth. Members attended and determined adult supervision was present and that safe rides home had been arranged. Property rep advised against such activities continuing
September 18
1:08 am – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported issues with a neighbouring residence but Dispatch had a difficult time understanding the actual complaint. Complainant then apologized for calling. Member tried calling complainant and patrolled the area but found on issues
8:56 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that his black 2009 Harley Davidson had been stolen from his property overnight. Under investigation
11:13 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported his ex was slandering him on Facebook over a debt of $80. Member spoke to the complainant and determined nothing criminal was occurring
12:08 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant reported a driver in a black Dodge dually truck with an Arctic Fox camper had been driving erratically and flipped him the bird before continuing East on Hwy 39. Due to location the information was forwarded to Breton RCMP who did not locate said bird flipper
1:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 St – Complainant reported a neighbour playing loud music. Member attended, no music heard. The person who had been playing music was asked to keep it down
1:26 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reports his ex is texting him all the time. Complainant is on “no contact” conditions with the ex. Member spoke to both parties, the ex claimed that the complainant had texted her. Insufficient evidence for a charge, both told to stop contacting one another
4:59 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Complainant reported a male smoking a joint in a parking lot and then leaving in a black Tahoe. Members were north of town at the time and unable to locate the vehicle. The vehicle is registered to someone from out of the area
6:35 pm – Drayton Valley – Crime Reduction Unit members working in Drayton Valley area conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious truck. A female in the vehicle was arrested on a “pay or stay” traffic warrant and subsequently transported to Edmonton Remand Center. Two males who are well known to police were charged with breaching conditions and the driver was also arrested for driving while suspended. The truck was impounded due to the driver being suspended
8:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver, male sleeping in his truck in a parking lot. Members attended and awoke the male who provided valid license, registration and insurance along with a breath sample that showed he was sober.
11:51 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting cable cut from tower. Members patrolled the area, no vehicles located.
September 19
1:36 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration.
6:55 am – Brazeau County – RR85 – Members responded to a collision. Driver heading north on RR85 hit a deer and rolled his vehicle in the ditch. Driver treated by paramedics, vehicle totalled
8:47 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting their Dark Blue Chevrolet Silverado stolen.
12:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Street – Complainant reporting damage to their vehicle. Door handle and window broken on their Dodge Ram.
2:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 38 Street – Complainant reporting theft. Complainant hired an individual off of Facebook to deliver a vehicle from New Brunswick to Drayton Valley. Once payment had been received, the individual vanished off social media.
3:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle going through a stop sign. Driver issued a violation ticket for Fail to obey traffic control device.
3:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant calling to report hazardous material leaking on the side of the road. Members attended along with Fire Department.
8:26 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a red Hyundai is driving very slowly. Members patrolled the area, vehicle not located.
9:05 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a dark coloured SUV. Driver passed complainant on a double line with their brights on. Member patrolled the area, vehicle not located.
10:06 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a trespasser at the storage yard. Male with a hoody with a back pack. Member attended and located male inside their storage unit. Male left.
September 20
9:28 am – Parkland County – Complainant reporting they hired a contractor to purchase building materials after payment. Contractor advised that the materials were not available in Canada and refuses to return the $1220 paid. Matter is still under investigation.
12:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious male wearing a hoody, baggy pants and a backpack with a large beard and glasses. They were outside the voting area and asking individuals who they voted for in the election. Members patrolled the area, male not located.
1:22 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting speeding semi trucks on Hwy 621 in both directions. Members attended area and made patrols, no speeding vehicles noted.
2:48 PM – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing an individual on their cell phone. Driver issued a violation ticket
3:04 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for operating a motor vehicle without registration.
4:54 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reporting a possible impaired driver. Male had asked for a boost. When boosting the vehicle, they noted a strong smell of liquor. Vehicle is a white Dodge Caravan with damage to the driver side bumper. Patrols made, vehicle not located.
5:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant called to report a female standing on the corner wearing barely any clothing. Patrols were made in the area. Female not located.
5:59 pm – Parkland County – Complainant called to report an individual had received a German Shepard puppy from them, however only received $900 of the $2000 owed. Suspect had lied about being a veteran in order to jump the cue on the list, suspect had never been in the military.
6:13 pm – Drayton Valley – Evergreen School – Complainant reporting youth damaging a dumpster, creating a mess. One youth has red hair, a girl in a grey toque and red sweater. Members attended and spoke with the youth who apologized.
10:00 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial road – Complainant requesting patrols around the storage area. Newer truck with a few people at the location. Storage lot is closed. Members patrolled the area, vehicle and individuals had left.
10:07 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant called requesting members attend while they confront family members ex. Members attended and intervened before things escalated. Statements taken and ex arrested and charged with assault.
11:04 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report an assault which happened in Edmonton. Statements taken and forwarded to EPS
11:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant called to report a possible fire near the burger baron restaurant. Large cloud of smoke. Member attended and noted a small bonfire at the coach motel.
September 21
11:43 am – Drayton Valley – request to conduct a COVID 19 health check on individual who recently returned to Canada. Member attended, individual isolating as required.
3:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a male at a dumpster is throwing garbage around and yelling at people. Member attended and located male who was very animated, however was cleaning up the garbage and was attacked by wasps.
4:13 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting a suspicious jeep patriot parked at the gravel pits near Tomahawk. Member attended, jeep not stolen, Member called Registered owner. Damage to vehicle indicated it had struck a deer.
5:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant calling to report a possible intoxicated driver. Last seen at the Petro gas station. Member attended and patrolled surrounding area, vehicle not located.
6:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Residential alarm received. Member attended and spoke with resident who advised they were unable to get to the panel to turn off the alarm. Alarm False.
8:08 pm – Violet Grove – Complainant reporting a vehicle making a lot of noise all day. Vehicle is revving, honking and driving loudly. Members conducted patrols in the area and did not hear or see anything out of the ordinary.
8:14 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting a male in a white truck appears to be scoping out properties. Member attended and located vehicle. Driver spoken to and is well known to members.
8:57 pm – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Members attended and located vehicle and known male who was attempting to fix the vehicle.
9:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 34 Avenue – Request to assist fire department with a structure fire in out building. Members attended and secured area. Fire accidental, no injuries.
10:25 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting they found what appeared to be a foot at the landfill. Members attended and noted the foot was a bear paw.
September 22
6:28 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting members conduct weekly welfare checks on their children. Member advised that is not something we do
12:40 PM – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting an individual had transferred $220 out of their bank account. Matter is still under investigation
1:20 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reported an individual shot their dog while their child was nearby. Individual was charged with numerous firearm offences as well as impaired driving and held for a Bail hearing.
3:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated female parked at the plaza. Members attended and located the vehicle with three female occupants. Driver issued several violation tickets as well as a 24 hour suspension.
9:04 pm – Brazeau County – RR 64 – Complainant reporting ex is violating conditions. Member attended, not enough evidence for charges.
11:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting male had been drinking in the bar and wanted to fight, then got into a Grey F150 and continued to yell at complainant. Driver left towards Hwy 22. Members patrolled the area, however vehicle not located.
September 23
1:04 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant called to report a truck in the ditch. Member attended location, vehicle had left prior to arrival.
1:39 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a truck on fire south of the Saskatchewan River on Hwy 22. Fire department attended, vehicle had been stolen out of Leduc.
