Speed limit in school zones is 30 km per hour. Children will be excited and will likely not be looking out for themselves, therefore it is incumbent on you as a driver to be watching out for them.

August 26
8:02 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his 2004 F350 along with a trailer and 2019 Can Am side by side stolen from his hotel parking lot. Truck and trailer located later in Berrymoor area. Under investigation
8:28 am – Lodgepole – Complainant reported witnessing what was possibly a stolen vehicle at a nearby residence five days prior. Insufficient evidence to investigate though police are aware of the location
8:33 am – Drayton Valley – Beckett Rd – Complainant reported the license plate stolen off his truck
9:14 am – Yellowhead County – Complainant reported the theft of copper wire and damage to a transformer at a utility facility, occurred approximately 45 days prior
9:24 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a church window broken overnight and the door frame damaged. No entry gained. Member investigated but insufficient evidence to charge anyone
10:13 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported one vehicle backed into another
12:32 pm – Drayton Valley – Hospital – hang-up 911 call. No emergency situation located, likely a misdial while seeking an outside line
1:13 pm – Parkland County – An Evansburg RCMP officer reported a vehicle having fled from an attempted traffic stop, last seen headed East on Twp Rd 514 at a high rate of speed. Drayton Valley members subsequently attended a residence in the area where a male is on 24 hour house arrest. A truck matching the description was observed on the property and a curfew check was conducted. The male was subsequently located and arrested on an outstanding warrant for a prior curfew breach and the scene was secured and held while a search warrant was obtained. A search warrant was approved and executed, and as a result multiple trucks, trailers and pieces of equipment were recovered. 40 year old Colin Rumsey has been charged with 12 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and was remanded into custody.
2:12 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 22/Twp Rd 514 – Complainant reported hitting a deer, vehicle was drivable and complainant continued on his journey. Member attended and ensured the deer was off the road
8:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Landfill – Members attended to assist Town Peace Officer who had located a male trespassing and starting a fire. Members arrested the male for breaching a release condition and released him to appear in Court at a later date. The Peace Officer issued a violation ticket for trespassing
8:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported witnessing a male and female smoking drugs behind a church. Member attended, but the suspects were no longer on site and not located
August 27
5:59 am – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22/50 Ave – Complainant reported a truck crossing the center line near 50 Ave and then continuing north. Members did not locate the truck. Member called the owner
10:01 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd – Drayton Valley General Investigation Section members observed a truck parked by the Econorest that had been previously reported stolen. Member attended and called the owner who had been unaware the truck had been stolen again. The truck was towed and held for a forensic exam. Under investigation
5:18 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 492/RR 82 – Complainant reported a white F150 driving below the speed limit and then blocking the complainant from passing and making obscene gestures out the window. Truck not located, under investigation to speak to the owner
7:19 pm – Brazeau County –Violet Grove area – Complainant reported unwanted campers on his property. Member attended and determined any campers were now gone. Complainant advised
11:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 St – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver after observing a female slumped over the wheel of a car. Member attended and determined the female was entirely sober, but waiting for her boyfriend who had asked for a ride home from the bar
August 28
12:16 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Ave – Complainant reported people around his back yard and laying in his grass. Members attended, no one located
1:27 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – File generated to assist Morinville RCMP with a domestic violence investigation.
1:32 am – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle. The driver provided a mandatory alcohol screening (“MAS”) breath sample which resulted in the driver receiving a 3 day driving suspension and vehicle seizure
3:35 am – Brazeau County – RR85 – Complainant reported an unknown female at her door asking for help getting back to town. Member attended and located the female who was given a courtesy ride to a local motel
3:40 am – Drayton Valley – Members called to a disturbance. Upon arrival they learned a consensual fight between sisters, however all parties were intoxicated. One female arrested for mischief and taken to the Drayton Valley Detachment to sober up.
3:49 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Anonymous complainant reported a wanted male (related to the assistance request at 1:27 am) may be hiding in bushes at a location. Members attended but the male wasn’t located and hadn’t been seen.
5:52 am – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Complainant reported a female screaming and yelling from a nearby residence. Member attended and located a 32 year old male having a backyard fire along with 4 females, 3 of whom were underage. The females, who were intoxicated, would not say where they obtained the alcohol. The underage females were either sent or taken home and parents were contacted.
8:44 am – Brazeau County – RR71/Hwy 22 – Members attended to a collision between a 2009 Infinity and a deer. No injuries to driver, the vehicle was towed from the scene and the deer removed from the roadway
10:39 am – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant reported a female missing. The female, a friend of the complainant’s daughter had left a camping event around 1 am and hadn’t been seen since. Member investigated and confirmed the female was fine and had been driven to a hotel earlier in the night (see incident at 3:35 am)
2:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 St – Commercial burglar alarm. Members attended and confirmed the alarm false, set off by an employee
2:33 pm – Parkland County – Complainant reported a neighbour yelling at someone bringing a horse to her residence, about two hours earlier.
3:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported a family member making concerning comments, acting and saying strange things and not taking prescribed medications. Members attended and arrested the male who was held in cells overnight until sober and then transported to a designated mental health facility
3:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 St – Complainant entered a business and set off an alarm. No employees on site. Member attended and met property representative who believed he had forgot to secure the front door the prior afternoon
4:41 pm – Brazeau county – Complainant reporting intoxicated male in a burgundy vehicle after an assault. Members attended and located male who was quite intoxicated. Male arrested for assault and impaired driving.
7:04 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reported that a known male backed onto her property and dumped garbage. Under investigation
8:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported possible drug use by persons in the woods behind Eldorado School. Members were dealing with a priority matter but did locate several persons in the area who did not appear high or in distress
8:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male who is on a no-contact order with her had just been at her residence trying to contact her. Members investigated and were able to locate the male at another residence a few blocks away. Members arrested 47 year old Neil Gow of Morinville who is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing on multiple charges from both Drayton Valley and Morinville
8:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported a male carrying a bag enter a wooded area and not come back out. Member attended but no one was located
9:43 pm – Brazeau County – RR75 – Complainant reported a suspicious truck saw them lock their gate and then park and watch. Member attended the area but the suspicious truck wasn’t located.
11:43 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 482 – Complainant reported loud music from the west of her residence. Member attended and located the source of the music, a residence where a wedding was going on. Resident agreed to keep the music down in consideration of her neighbours
11:52 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reported cows loose on the highway. Member attended and determined the complainant had been able to get them into a lease site and well off of the highway. Unable to determine ownership of the cows at the time of the call
August 29
3:58 am – Drayton Valley – Sexual assault investigation opened after members received information while investigating another matter. File under investigation
5:05 am – Brazeau county – complainant calling to report a break and enter to a compound. Chain cut on lease site gate.
9:21 am – Cynthia – Complainant reported an agitated customer at a business. No offence committed and the suspect had left in his truck. No plate obtained, suspect not located
1:40 pm – Brazeau County – EMS requests assistance for female who has crashed their dirt bike. Members attended, no major injuries, driver had fallen into a dry river bed.
2:26 pm – Lodgepole – Complianant called to report their 2006 white Chevrolet Silverado 3500 crew cab had been stolen from a work yard.
4:59 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting their stolen work trailer was located at a lease road. Member attended with owner. Structural damage to trailer.
5:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting ex slapped their son in the face. Member attended and obtained further information. Matter still under investigation.
6:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting room mate is acting aggressive. Members attended and provided ride to Mental Health facility for assessment.
7:35 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an older model green GMC with canopy and trailer was all over the road. Vehicle not located.
August 30
11:26 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reported they were southbound on RR 85 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle
11:27 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting theft of service rig paraphernalia. Someone broke into the tool shed and stole equipment, tools, oil, diesel fuel.
2:27 pm – Drayton Valley – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a physical altercation with family member. Members attended, male arrested and charged with assault. Held for bail hearing.
2:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant attended the detachment to report graffiti was added to the building and multiple scrapes and carvings.
7:47 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting known male is squatting at a unit in the trailer park.
8:44 pm – Drayton Valley – Hospital staff called to report male had been dropped off in parking lot and is in critical condition, male advised he had been hit by a car prior to becoming unresponsive. Male declared deceased shortly after.
August 31
12:03 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting neighbours dogs have been outside barking for the past three hours. Member attended and could hear dogs barking. Owners arrived and took dogs inside.
2:09 pm – Drayton Valley- 52 Street – Complainant reporting their 1999 Black Dodge Ram was stolen from in in front of their residence.
3:05 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant called to request removal of male from property. Members attended, both parties very intoxicated. Male had left prior to arrival. Member attended male’s residence and advised him not to return as he was not welcome. Ongoing issue.
6:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for failing to stop.
7:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued violation ticket for failing to obey traffic control device.
7:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Request to assist fire department with fire behind Eldorado School. Member attended, fire extinguished.
8:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting they found drug paraphernalia and an unknown white powder. Member attended and seized items.
8:58 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Alarm going off at bank. Members attended, all secure. False alarm
10:11 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant requesting wellbeing check on children. Members attended residence and confirmed that children were fine.
10:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for speeding.
11:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Alarm received from Evergreen school. Members attended and located one of the teachers inside.
September 1
12:43 am – Drayton Valley – 58 Street – EMS advised they received a knock on their ambulance by a woman on a pedal bike who stated someone was following them. Woman took off, member patrolled the area, no persons located.
11:55 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a break and enter in progress. Suspect is loading items into a truck. Members attended, suspects had left prior to arrival. Members patrolled area with negative results. Member contacted company and was advised the suspect had been given permission to be on the site.
12:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a male urinating on the side of 7 11 in front of their vehicle. Member attended 7 11 and viewed surveillance. Male not identified or located
12:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter overnight at a rental property. The upstairs patio door had been jimmied. No damage, believes old tenants came back to get their belongings.
2:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – 911 open line coming from town of Drayton Valley. Water Treatment plant accidentally hit the emergency button, Member attended, no emergency
2:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – 911 open line at store. Member attended, no emergency.
2:43 pm – Drayton Valley – Walmart Parking lot – Complainant reporting they were parked in the parking lot and when they returned there observed damage to their 2014 Red Jeep Cherokee.
3:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended detachment to report uttering threats. Caller not making much sense. Member went outside to speak to complainant, however they had left
7:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – 911 hang-up. Caller was aggressive with communications center, stated they needed police then hung up. Member patrolled the area and heard nothing. Several calls back to the number were made by member.
9:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant called 911 as they were upset. Members attended and complainant advised they were being stalked by a white truck. Complainant would proved no further information then stormed off.
10:28 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an intoxicated individual who is yelling at the complainant and wanting to fight. Suspect driving a white Silverado with a tank in the back. Patrols made and vehicle located near the Derrick Lounge. Driver spoken to
10:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant calling to report 4 males in the back alley around a black escalade. Member attended area and spoke with complainant. Males not located.
10:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting loud argument occurring outside for past two hours. Members attended and located male and female in a vehicle. Male admitted to damaging the vehicle. Male charged.
September 2
12:48 am – Drayton Valley – 41 Avenue – Complainant advised there is an intoxicated female near the corner of 47 Street. Jumping in front of vehicles, yelling and screaming. Members attended area and made numerous patrols. Female not located.
2:20 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting they had chased a male from the parking lot. Male had been looking through vehicles. Male fled in a dark SUV. Members attended and patrolled area, nothing had been taken. Vehicle not located
4:08 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle pulled into the parking lot.
