Goonies never say die!
The Drayton Valley Museum will be hosting a free, outdoor screening of the 1980s classic on Friday, July 30.
Museum senior staff member Rebecca Fontana says it was an easy choice to make. “We were just looking for some family friendly stuff, and iconic movies, so we chose The Goonies, and we’re doing another movie in August. That’ll be The Princess Bride,” says Fontana.
The movie was made possible thanks to a community event grant from the town of Drayton Valley. “We needed a license to show the film to the public, so we got the community grant funding from the town for that. So the town of Drayton Valley is helping to fund it, which is nice,” says Fontana. Fontana also thanks all the volunteers who donated the equipment.
The Operation Sasquatch food truck from Elevated Experience Camping will also be on hand to serve up snacks.
The film starts at 10PM on the Drayton Valley Museum grounds.
